Our Story
EVAN GUY: AN UNEXPECTED LUXURY IN COLORADO SPRINGS
There are stores you visit because you need something. And then there are stores you visit because you want to discover something.
EVAN GUY belongs decidedly to the latter.
Tucked into Colorado Springs, this independent design shop feels more like something discovered along Fifth Avenue, in a tucked-away corner of Manhattan, or on a favorite design street in Los Angeles or San Francisco. It is sophisticated without being precious, luxurious without being predictable, and perhaps most importantly, deeply personal.

EVAN GUY is the companion business to Rich Schell Interiors, and that connection is evident the moment one walks through the door. This is not merchandise selected by a corporate buying office or dictated by national retail trends. It is a continually evolving collection seen through the eye of a designer.
The result is an extraordinary mix.
Vintage objects mingle comfortably with new pieces. Estate finds sit beside reproductions. Exquisite art, sculpture and decorative accessories share space with jewelry, distinctive fragrances and beautifully made candles. Asian, Chinese, European and African influences appear throughout the collection, alongside pieces with the timeless American sensibility associated with Ralph Lauren.
Nothing needs to match.
Everything somehow belongs.
That may be the greatest pleasure of EVAN GUY. It doesn’t feel like a store assembled for a season. It feels collected over a lifetime.
There is an intimacy to that kind of retail that has become increasingly rare. In an era when so much shopping has become anonymous, algorithmic and available with a click, EVAN GUY celebrates the opposite: the pleasure of seeing something in person, touching it, smelling it, hearing its story and unexpectedly falling in love with it.
And there is another part of the EVAN GUY story worth telling.
It happens to be in Colorado Springs.
Luxury retail is often associated with a handful of major cities. We expect to find unusual design in New York. We expect beautifully curated boutiques in Los Angeles or San Francisco. A shop like EVAN GUY in one of those cities might easily become a destination simply because its surroundings tell people to expect something extraordinary.
Colorado Springs doesn’t always come with that assumption.
Perhaps that’s precisely what makes discovering EVAN GUY so satisfying.
Behind its doors is a level of individuality and sophisticated curation one might expect to travel considerably farther to find. There are objects for grand houses and little treasures that simply make everyday life more beautiful. There are pieces with provenance and pieces waiting to acquire it. Some are serious. Some are whimsical. Many are one of a kind.
The common denominator isn’t price, period or pedigree.
It’s beauty.
That philosophy comes directly from its relationship with Rich Schell Interiors. The interior design studio and EVAN GUY are separate businesses, yet natural companions. One creates complete environments; the other offers a glimpse into the objects, influences, and details that give those environments soul.
For clients of the design firm, EVAN GUY becomes an extension of the design experience. For everyone else, it offers something equally compelling: an opportunity to step inside that world.
And perhaps that is the real reason independent shops like EVAN GUY still matter.
They remind us that shopping can be more than acquiring things. It can be an afternoon spent wandering. A conversation. An education. A surprise. A fragrance you can’t stop thinking about. A piece of art you didn’t know you were looking for. An old object with a history. A new object destined to become part of yours.
There is no algorithm for that.
You simply have to walk through the door.
EVAN GUY
Colorado Springs’ unexpected destination for the beautifully collected.
